1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flametop Reissue
1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flametop Reissue incl. brown Gibson hardshell case
This is a very very special guitar! Extremely rare and in good condition. It features many of the specs as the famous "Guitar Trader" reissues although it appears that it has been built for another purpose around the same time. It has 1981 pot codes and pickups and a special serial number date-sequence "8 1 82" which dates it to 1st of August 1982. According to the Gibson records there are a very few guitars made with these serial number types. It's got a spectacular flametop and color and the top carving is amazing, very deep and nowhere near the top carving of any Les Paul built between 1960 and maybe the mid 1990s! The lacquer checked like the 50s lacquer, in the typical lines. It has been played so it's got some cool marks. It sounds incredibly good, and when compared with original Bursts from the late 50s it was spot on!
Here is the description of the Guitar Trader series: Less than 50 of these early 59 Reissue where built in the early 80s for Guitar Trader, a music store in Redbank/New Jersey. Much better than most factory Gibson LPs from the same period, as those Guitar Trader Reissues where made of hand-selected woods and had many features of late 50s Les Paul Standard, such as 1-piece neck, 1-piece body, correct details such as top-carving, thin binding in cutaway, small headstock, 17° headstock-angle, old style ABR-bridge with studs directly into the top, 2x Gibson "Tim Shaw" PAF pickups and many other details. Beautiful bookmatched figured maple-top and a nice shaped mahagony-neck (not as oversized as on most new Ri´s), Inked serialnumber on backside of headstock (The official Gibson serialnumber is impressed at the edge of the electronic compartment), "Gibson" logos hand-cut on a jig saw with the open "b" and "o" inlayed into original spec white holly headstock veneers, real silkscreened "Les Paul Model" logo and many more Comes in its orig brown Gibson case with pink interieur.
